ACTIVE VACATION GUIDE

Saskatchewan in motion is a province-wide movement aimed at increasing physical activity for health, social, economic and environmental benefits. To keep it simple, our purpose is to help people move more!  TAKE THE PLEDGE!

According to Canada's Guide for Healthy Active Living, children and youth require a minimum of 60-90 minutes of physical activity every day. Saskatchewan in motion inspires, galvanizes and connects a provincial movement of educators, parents, caregivers and community leaders to increase opportunities for just 30 minutes of physical activity at home, at school and in the community.

Physical Activity Guidelines: How much is enough? View the guidelines for ages 5-11 and ages 12-17.

Is your child's school in motion?  in motion schools value our youth's health and are committed to providing a minimum 30 minutes of physical activity each day in addition to the prescribed physical education curriculum. There are lots of ways to make this happen:

  • physical activity breaks
  • facilitated recess
  • before or after school activities
  • intramurals
  • sports programs
  • special events
